Management Team

Ben Westbrook
CEO and CTO
Mr. Westbrook is the founder of Mail-Filters and was instrumental in not only the design and development of the company's technology but also the overall success of the company. Mr. Westbrook serves as both the company's CEO, responsible for the direction and strategy of the company, as well as the CTO, responsible for the technology direction and vision.

Prior to starting Mail-Filters, Mr. Westbrook was involved in numerous successful start-ups, including most notably PropellerHead Software. Mr. Westbrook has held senior management positions at various companies including Central Point Software (maker of PC Tools), Compaq Computer, Perkin Elmer Applied Biosystems, and Ensera (acquired by Mitchell International).

John Murden
COO
John Murden joined Mail-Filters in 2002 as VP Marketing and Public Relations. Mr. Murden's background includes: President of Louis Allen Associates, an international management consulting firm with five U.S. and four overseas offices; President of Voycall Inc., a subsidiary of Arcata National; Principal of Knight Gladieux and Smith, an international general management consulting firm; Adjunct member of the faculty of the Executive MBA program at St. Mary's College in Moraga, California.

Mr. Murden is a graduate of the University of Wales, with a B.Sc. in mechanical and civil engineering, and holds a M.S. in Industrial Management from Polytechnic University of New York, where he taught statistics in the graduate business program.


Daniel Ashby
Global Sales and Business Development
Mr. Ashby has over 20 years of management experience in Sales, Marketing and Business Development in the high-tech industry. Mr. Ashby is responsible for all sales, business development and marketing activities at Mail-Filters. Prior to joining Mail-Filters, Mr. Ashby was Vice-President of Worldwide Sales & Business development at Cerberian, Inc. a leader in the content security industry. Mr. Ashby was responsible for managing all sales and business development activities in North America, Europe, and Asia. Mr. Ashby successfully participated in the acquisition of Cerberian by Blue Coat Systems (NASDAQ: BCSI) in late 2004. Prior to joining Cerberian, Mr. Ashby was an original founder and President of CyberVista, Inc., Vice President of Business Development for ProSolutions, Vice President at Network Financial (NASDAQ), and Vice President of Channel Sales at Touch Industries (NASDAQ). Mr. Ashby has also held key management positions with Sector Group and Interactive Healthcare Systems.

Mr. Ashby studied advertising, marketing, and economics at Brigham Young University where he received his degree in Advertising. Mr. Ashby has been a frequent speaker at trade events and conferences as well as quoted in numerous industry publications.


Ray Bayer
Vice President, Product Management
Mr. Bayer has been with Mail-Filters since its inception in 2001 and has been responsible for developing OEM relationships and helping to set the strategic direction of the Mail-Filters' technology. Mr. Bayer has over 20 years of experience in high-tech software companies and has been with four companies that have gone public. Mr. Bayer came to Mail-Filters from HearMe, a pioneer in Voice over IP applications, where he held positions in Business Development and Product Marketing. Prior to HearMe, Mr. Bayer worked at Netopia and was responsible for product marketing in the software business unit. Mr. Bayer has also held various Business Development and Marketing executive positions with Global Village Communications, Cheyenne Software, and Central Point Software.

Mr. Bayer received his BS degree in Marketing and his MBA from East Carolina University.


Gregg Foster
Vice President, Customer Service
Mr. Foster joined Mail-Filters in March of 2003 and has been responsible for developing the direct and indirect sales channels. Mr. Foster has more than 25 years of experience managing sales and services teams to capture new opportunities and achieve revenue growth in both domestic and international technology-driven markets. Prior to joining Mail-Filters, Mr. Foster held senior management positions at ASU Solutions, CommerceQuest, Level 8 Systems and IBM.

Mr. Foster received his BA in Mathematics from the University of Colorado and completed graduate programs in Computer Science at MIT and Systems Research Institute.


Nicole Godfrey
Director of Marketing
Nicole Godfrey brings extensive experience in building strategic and tactical marketing programs for software and technology companies. Ms. Godfrey's background includes establishing marketing programs for both channel and strategic partners for a wide variety of companies with a focus on technology. Ms. Godfrey's responsibilities at Mail-Filters include excuting the corporate marketing strategy as well as managing the OEM Partner marketing program.
